This week has been a bad one for both Kevin Nash and the WWE.
We reported how Nash was arrested in the early hours of Christmas Eve after a fight with his own son. Nash was released on Christmas Day afternoon. He thanked his Twitter followers for support, and thanked the staff at the detention centre for their courtesy and professionalism. He also noted that the pain of these events "will never go away".
The WWE responded to his arrest by suspending his contract. An official statement noted that Nash had not worked regularly with the company since 2004, but he was still under a Legends' deal. But this had been suspended until he got his domestic dispute settled.
The decision has caused a lot of upset at a time when morale was low. The general feeling is that Nash was defending Tristan's mother, based on witness accounts. Tristan returned home and verbally assaulted his mother. When Nash stepped in, Tristan turned on him, forcing Nash to physically restrain him.
Morale was low because of the hypocritical attitude management has had to Vince McMahon and A.J. Lee's comments. The heat is on A.J. because of how she delivered her speech at the Slammy awards. A.J. put down the entire Divas division, which exception to Paige. However, insiders believe that management are just looking for petty reasons to be mad at her. Management have not been happy with CM Punk's actions as of late. As Punk is not with the company, they have been taking the frustrations out on A.J.
The hypocrisy is based on how management has supported Vince after putting down the entire roster. Earlier reports that the roster had taken his interview with Steve Austin in good rumour turned out to be false. They are in fact cross with Vince for claiming that nobody since John Cena has reached for the brass ring. Only Cena, Bray Wyatt and the Shield members came out looking good in that interview. Triple H tried to give a reassure the locker room that Vince was just trying to light a fire under them. But the roster is well aware that Vince is the reason why the majority of them are not getting over. So it felt personal when Vince implied that the superstars themselves weren't trying hard enough. A specific example is how Vince pretended to be clueless over why Cesaro hadn't gotten over with fans, when he is doing exceptionally well with all of the bad booking he has had to endure.
Triple H's speech felt like he was talking down to everyone. Triple H was once highly respected because the majority of wrestlers believed that Triple H was genuinely on their side. But they lost respect for him as it seemed like he was reciting a script from management.
