Many dirt sheet sites have reported an update on the WWE Network's UK launch. However, the producer behind the Botchamania videos has spotted that it is a hoax.

We reported on Monday about how the WWE Network was cancelled in the UK just 20 minutes before it was meant to go live. It is believed that this is the result in an agreement between WWE and BSkyB still not having been reached. A new story going around is that Sky is insisting on launching the WWE Network as a regular cable channel, and not a web-based service. However, YouTube user Maffew has exposed this as a hoax.

Maffew, who lives in England, noticed that all of the dirt sheets were quoting a Reddit user. The Reddit user claimed that his source was a Sky Advisor that he had contacted personally. He added two screenshots of the chat conversation as proof. Maffew, being a Sky customer, recognised that the screen shots were not from a Sky service. This either means that a Sky employee has been leaking confidential information relating to private negotiations, or it is a complete hoax. Maffew revealed the information through the Botchamania facebook account. He has offered to try and contact this mysterious source himself, but it may not change anything.

This is the second time that WWE Network has been postponed in the UK. Vince McMahon himself starred in a video apology to UK fans. He did not indicate why the delay had happened or when the Network would be launched.

Maffew is best known for his botchamania videos which are released roughly once a month. The show highlights wrestling mistakes from all forms of televised wrestling, focusing mainly on WWE, TNA and CZW. Much of the footage is nominated by fans of the series. His videos are frequently targeted by the WWE and Ring Of Honor for using copyrighted footage without permission. However, he has a lot of supporters within the industry. Two of the most notable are Tyson Kidd and Chris Hero, as both have even submitted footage of themselves messing up moves.

Update: Maffew has since contacted the source himself. The source has said that the WWE Network WILL be an online service, and not a cable channel. Therefore, the Reddit user was wrong.
