Several dirtsheets have wrongly claimed that the WM 32 has already been set.
In a pre-taped interview, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar referred to beating The Rock when Lesnar was still a rookie. The Wrestling Observer falsely claimed that this was to hype the Brock Lesnar vs The Rock main event at WrestleMania 32. In fact, the line was to hype Lesnar's match at WrestleMania 31, where he will defend the title against The Rock's cousin, Roman Reigns.
The WWE attempted to set up Lesnar vs The Rock for WM 30, but an agreement could not be reached. Lesnar one performed his F-5 finisher on The Rock on Raw in order to hype a potential showdown between the pair. Then during Lesnar's 'attack on WWE headquaters', Lesnar paused for a brief stare down with a poster featuring The Rock. The WWE leaked a false story claiming that the carefully framed shot was "Lesnar going into business for himself". When it looked unlikely that The Rock would sign on for a match, they stopped promoting it.
One thing stopping the match is that The Rock may not do it. The Rock was previously unwilling to face anybody due to injuries sustained in each one of his matches in recent years. However, he agreed to help tease a potential Rock vs Triple H match for WM 31. This was a back-up just in case Sting would not agree to compete. Now that he has, all plans for a match featuring the Rock have been dropped.
The bigger reason why it may not happen is because Lesnar's future in the WWE is uncertain. Unless Lesnar signs a new deal before the end of this month, he will be leaving the company. This could happen, but negotiations are said to be really tense right now. We previously reported that things had become really heated between Lesnar and Vince McMahon. People nearby were worried that Lesnar would attack McMahon, but instead Lesnar left the arena without making a scheduled appearance. McMahon suggested that he was prepared to seek legal action if Lesnar did not honour the rest of his current contract.
Lesnar debuted in the WWE in April 2002, and won the WWE Undisputed Championship in August that same year by defeating The Rock. The Rock then started making fewer and fewer appearances until he phased himself out of the company completely...
...why does that last part feel familiar?
