Don't miss out on Savage101's review of WrestleMania 31. You can find it by Clicking Here.
* The decision to have Seth Rollins cash in his Money In The Bank contract at all was only made on the day of WrestleMania itself. It was not a plan that had been discussed for long. As of Saturday night, the plan was, and always had been, to have Roman Reigns defeat Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Championship. The WWE had chosen to believe that they could get fans behind Reigns in time for WrestleMania. Their last attempt was having Reigns tell fans in an interview to stop booing him because they wouldn't be brave enough to do it to him in person. However, Reigns received a ton of heat from fans at the Hall of Fame ceremony when his cousin Rikishi mentioned his name. This was when WWE management finally accepted that they had failed at getting Reigns over. They then had Rollins win the title because it was the only outcome that the majority of fans would be happy about.
* At the WrestleMania Axxess weekend, a fan climbed the outside of the Elimination Chamber structure. He was immediately removed from the building and banned from the rest of the WM weekend festivities. Rollins posted a photo of the incident on Twitter.
* As previously reported, Hideo Itami finally used his Go To Sleep finisher at Axxess. Itami is credited with inventing the move, which was famously adopted by CM Punk. He had been instructed not to use the move in WWE to avoid association with Punk. The idea to use the move at Axxess was apparently Triple H's. Itami later joked about it on Twitter in a reply to Punk.
* There are strong rumours that Scott Steiner was banned from attending the Hall of Fame ceremony. The rumour started after a fan took a photograph at reception which showed Steiner's picture on a printout. It is believed that the list was people that security was supposed to prevent from entering the building. Steiner currently has an ongoing lawsuit with the WWE, as well as a turbulent history with many people involved with the HoF.
* Jerry Lawler made a joke about being replaced by Eva Marie as the host of the show. The plan was for Lawler to help bury the rumours as rubbish. However, it was a very serious plan that had been confirmed several times since January, but always changed back. The decision to have Eva Marie host was made last Thursday, even though it had not been agreed upon. Lawler had not been told that he was being replaced, and his name was in the final draft of the script, which makes it easier for WWE to pretend the change was just rumours. It is unknown if Lawler will continue to host the show in future, but it is unlikely that Eva Marie will be given the role. Not after the highly negative response the idea got from fans. Lawler also made a brief joke about the heart attack he had on a live Raw over a year ago.
* Rikishi received a lot of criticism for not mentioning Brian "Grandmaster Sexay" Lawler or Scott "Scotty 2 Hotty" Taylor in his speech. Rikishi reached the peak of his career as a member of the Too Cool stable with the pair. He used the same gimmick he developed in 1999 for most of the rest of his career. He was a member of the group when he won his only singles title in the WWE. Taylor already mentioned that he was offended by Rikishi not mentioning them. Rikishi allegedly had a disagreement with them at an event last year, and haven't talked to either of them in several months.
* Contrary to rumour, Larry Zbyszko's acceptance speech did not over run.
* The Connor Michalek tribute video reportedly reduced many of the attendees to tears. Dana Warrior's speech was described as the best of the night.
* The decision to have Kevin Nash inducted last was made on Thursday. Kevin Dunn suggested that it would be better to close the ceremony with a living star, opposed to 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, who passed away a few years ago.
* Both the WrestleMania logo at the entrance way and Triple H's entrance were based on the forthcoming 'Terminator 5: Genysis' movie.
* This was the second year in a row in the WWE Tag Team Championship was defended in a Fatal Four Way match on the pre-show. Cesaro and the Usos were in both matches. Cesaro defended the titles this year while the Usos defended them last year.
* This is the second year that Cesaro competed in the WWE Tag Team Championship match before entering the Andre the Giant battle royal later that night.
* Bo Dallas botched in the battle royal by performing a dive over the top rope, thus eliminating himself. He was permitted to get back into the ring and continue the match.
* With the battle royal appearing on the pre-show, Goldust did not break a new record. Both Goldust and Jeff Hardy have gone 0-5 at WrestleMania.
* Again because the battle royal was moved, Big Show still remains at only 3 WM victories and does not tie-up with The Rock, who has four. However, this also ensured that he could not tie Triple H for most losses.
* Daniel Bryan has now won every men's title in the WWE.
* Dean Ambrose has not won a single PPV match since the Sheild broke up last May.
* Randy Orton and Seth Rollins were opponents at WM30 as well.
* The interference of Degeneration-X and the nWo was a reference to the Monday Night Wars between WWE's Raw and WCW's Monday Night Nitro.
* Sting's loss means that he lost his WWE debut match. There is no word yet on whether or not Sting plans to do another.
* Even though Triple H won last night, he still holds the record for most WM losses. He has been beaten 10 times.
* The segment with The Rock and Triple H was not to hype a possible match between both men. One had been planned for WM31 in case Sting didn't agree to a match. However, all relevant parties are interested in doing a Rock vs Triple H match in future if things come together. The WWE has already tried to get Rock to agree to a match at WM32. That said, he has expressed interest in facing Brock Lesnar, and Lesnar had similar sentiments.
* The Ronda Rousey segment was not to promote any kind of agreement between WWE and UFC. It was to promote a new partnership with Tapout clothing. Many people, including Triple H and Vince McMahon, encouraged Stephanie to take a judo throw from Rousey, but Stephanie was unwilling to take any kind of bump. This is why Triple H took the hip toss instead.
* John Cena's U.S. Championship is the first time Cena has held a secondary championship in 10 years. Cena had 3 reigns as U.S. Champion between WM20 and WM21.
* Rusev's loss is the first time Rusev officially lost by pin or submission since debuting on the main roster. It was reported that Rusev was pinned by Roman Reigns at a house show in February.
* This was not only the first time someone cashed in a MITB contract at WM, but it was the first time that someone asked to be added to a title match instead of requesting a new one.
* Because of Rollins joining the main event, it is the first time that tag partners at one WM became opponents at the next WM.
* Brock Lesnar lost the WWE Championship, so I will remove the word filter on his name.
