Triple H and Stephanie McMahon opened up Raw with their "Raw changing" announcement.
Long story short, Roman Reigns will defend his title shot against either Daniel Bryan or Seth Rollins at the Fast Lane PPV.
It was a very long and drawn out segment. There was even a commercial break during it. It started off with Triple H and Stephanie talking about how the Superbowl ended, repeating the fact that the New England Patriots won as many times as they could (think "9.99"). They said that it was a controversial ending, just like the Royal Rumble. They first blamed The Rock for interfering in the Rumble. They said that Reigns may not have won if the Rock did not interfere. The Rock was not a superstar anymore, so he should not have been in the ring.
Triple H also blamed Sting. As Sting is not a superstar, he set an example that it was okay for big names to interfere in WWE business. So Triple H dared Sting to confront him in the ring at Fast Lane.
This led to them admitting that Reigns won the Rumble, but they repeatedly said that they weren't sure if Reigns deserved to go to WrestleMania. Reigns came out and demanded to know why they were taking away the title shot that they had earned. Stephanie used her extensive in-ring experience to put herself in between Reigns and Triple H, and pointed out that they hadn't announced their decision yet. Stephanie mentioned a lot about Reigns representing his family lineage.
Daniel Bryan came out and said that he was overdue a rematch after being stripped off the title last year. He said that if Reigns didn't have his shot anymore, then he would like another shot at winning it. Triple H reminded Bryan that he was stripped off the title because he could not defend it. Triple H claimed that Bryan would've gotten a rematch in his first match back, but he had put himself into the Rumble before they found out he was able to compete. Now he was no longer in contention. Seth Rollins came out, but his microphone was switched off as they were going to a break.
After the break, Rollins claimed that he deserved the title shot because he injured the current WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. Triple H and Stephanie made some jokes about listening to the fans. Stephanie and Triple H whispered a bit to drag this out a little longer. Then Triple H announced that Bryan will face Rollins later that night. The winner will face Reigns at Fast Lane for the title shot.
Triple H then advised Reigns to choose this option (noting that there was no choices given). Stephanie dared him to do it so that he can prove that he deserved the WrestleMania match and represent his family lineage. Bryan dared him to do it so that they could face off at Fast Lane and prove who deserves the title shot. Rollins dared him to do it to prove that he isn't afraid of losing to Rollins. Reigns chose to do it (again, there was no choice to make). A later segment claimed that the McMahons had successfully manipulated Reigns and "The Beard".
It literally took them a full half-hour to get this announcement out of the way. Worth the wait, wasn't it?
Edit: After this segment finally ended, Curtis Axel came out and pointed out that he was never eliminated from the Rumble. He demanded a title shot at WrestleMania. So Dean Ambrose came out and "eliminated" him from the ring.
