When we started ripping into Cena it made so many of my fanboy dreams come true! Tonight, we got a great reminder of the greatness that was before the PG era, and hopefully a chance to see one of the greatest of all time possibly put into a feud with Cena. If Rock decides to actually wrestle Cena at Wrestlemania, it'll be the biggest Wrestlemania since, well, the last one he was in. :)

I've been grinning ear to ear all night! Cheers!

Cena vs Rock in a great match? That made me laugh. Cena and Rock are really not that much different. Cena doesn't sell and Rock oversells, so they each suck at that selling (Though in different ways). Their mic skills surpass their wrestling. Both are in crappy movies (The Other Guys Rock wasn't in long enough to hurt it.). Lastly both had elaborate setups for a very simplistic attack where the opponent has more than adequate time to stand the hell up.

Rock making fun of Cena's attire is funny considering Rock used to come out wearing this:

At least with Cena I don't have his package staring me in the face. So I found that quite amusing.

As far as being PG, Chris Jericho and CM Punk showed how you can be great (And in general) at promos while still being PG. It's not PG that is the problem, the problem is the wrestlers themselves.

I gotta disagree with that one, though Rock may over-sell, he's solid in the ring. Hell, even my trainers love his in ring ability. Sheamus, who just came back from Deep South Wrestling, actually wouldn't shut up about his timing and great in-ring placement. Just because he isn't a chain-wrestling machine doesn't mean he isn't fantastic in the ring.

Was Hogan vs Rock at Wrestlemania 18 a fantastic "wrestling" match? Of course not, but it was, indeed, a great match. Proof of Rock's great wrestling ability, look no further than No Mercy 2001, when he and Chris Jericho had one of my favorite matches of all time. He also gets the shine, turn, comeback, and finishers perfectly. There's a reason why even other great wrestlers such as Jericho, Flair, and others give praise to the Rock: Because he really is that rare breed that is "Tho Total Package". He's athletic (unlike Cena, who is an obvious juicer), hell, he's a fantastic athlete, always has been. He's smart, damn smart when it comes to the business, and he's charismatic as hell.

Is the People's Elbow arguably the most ludicrous move in sports entertainment history? Of course. Then again, that's where the brains come in... I hate that move, mkay? I hate it, however, from a business and showmanship standpoint, it is genius. Someone in the crowd gets a free souvenir, the peoples elbow pad, and the match gets the most over-the-top shining elbow in history. It's just an American version of the shining elbow, that's all.

Unlike, Cena, the Rock is a bona-fied legend of pro wrestling for all the right reasons. The People's Elbow started off as a joke, if you remember (I do, but I'm an older fart), it happened to catch on. So he kept it.

Cena? Well, what else do you have to say but his name?

Just like Hogan vs Rock at WM18, this is one that the fans would want to see. The leader and goldenboy of the PG era vs. the Attitude era's People's Champ. It will be an iconic match, to say the least.
