<big><big>300 : Rise of an Empire</big></big>
Before the movie :
I really like 300 back in 2007 and wanted to see this second movie. Usually I avoid watching a movie in 3D but considering the environments, lighting, etc... that was in 300 i thought it could be cool to see that in 3D even if i read bad comments about it.
Movie Plot :
Themistocles is an Athenian who fought the Battle of MArathon against the Persian army led by Xerxes ' father and was part responsible for Xerxes becoming the conqueror we saw in the Battle of Thermopylae.
In parallel of the Spartans battle against Persians in Thermopylae, the other Greek states allied to fight against the Persian naval army led by Artemisia.
The Persian threat is big and the greek will have to unite and fight altogether if they want a chance to survive the invasion.
My impressions :
+ Visually stunning, like the first movie the colors and lights are wonderful.
+ The 3d, i don't know why some people were bitching about it, i think it's the best 3D i've seen.
+ Choosing to focus on a naval battle.
+ The fights and their slowmotions, as in 300, are amazing.
- The end left me with a feeling of unfinished business. I won't go into the detail to avoid spoilers but the first movie had that beautifull and sad ending but here it's missing.
To conclude, i liked the movie as much as i liked the first one and i'm glad i saw it in 3D. I don't know what much to say except if you like 300, you won't be disappointed by Rise of an Empire so watch it
