Well here I am, trying to do something new after my quite..'recent' Tomb Raider modding [More coming your way!], I am here to talk about this new, wonderful and a satisfying Independent First person adventure game called A Story About My Uncle. Developed by Gone North Games.
Description
The Game is about a Boy (The Father, telling the STORY to his daughter) , searching for his Uncle Fred. He eventually winds up from the real world to another, weird yet beautiful world where he finds a humanoid named Maddie who helps him find Fred to a certain level. You travel across 5 different worlds and meet 2 tribes of humanoids who will give you tons of information about Fred.
Presentation
The Game looks really , awesomely and amazingly BEAUTIFUL! Specially in the 3rd Stage where you go the village. The Background Music totally suits with the environment. Soft , Cozy, yet Exciting at the same time. The 4th Stage literally has breathtaking scenery of the sky, the mountains , clouds and a tall, Icy Mountain (Which is the fifth stage).
The Character Dialogues , Specailly between Maddie and the Player, The Player and his daughter, and with the rest of the villagers/characters is very polished, clean, and in some cases, worth Remembering.
The most memorable line I remember from Maddie would be ,"I'd like to live here, with these people because they accept me for who I am, like you. Unlike my real home." This is in a very special moment, you might break down into teeny tiny bits of tears.
The game is built in Unreal Engine 4. Hence the screen effects and lighting look evenly fantastic!
Gameplay
The game offers very simple yet exciting gameplay. It gets harder and harder as you reach the end of the story, but its worth it. Everything in every level is built and designed with thinking. It can get ultra hard at some points, but you can keep trying and eventually find out the proper way to Swing or Leap or perform the recharge boosting Crystal move...or however you might wanna put it. It just depends on the strategy.
Overall, you have an exosuit (Like the one from COD Advanced Warfare, only more Interesting!) which comes with a Jump Booster, which helps you to do the Long Leaping Jumps for long distances. Also you get to have the grappling device. Be advised that it is limited to 3 Grapple Swings . If you reach a flat ground, the grappling device recharges automatically. And the last piece of equipment is the Rockpowered Boots which gives you an advantage for on air flight!
In the final stage, you'll gain a special ability to recharge your Grappling Booster by using them on the blue Power Crystals. This gives you the advantage to recharge ON AIR while still swinging!
Look at the Header picture. You see how he is swinging? Notice the rocket powered Boots and the ExoSuit...the world looks better than the one in the header btw. See the photos.
