Advice for a new computer

Hi to all OSR. I would like some advice on which the best Desktop computers are around? I am ideally looking for some high performance for gaming and do alot of my work on there so need to have a few applications running at the same time. My old desktop has retired and me and my brother have said we will go halfs on it.

My budget is around £400 -£600 ($800-$1000)

this is a good place to start mate, you can just get the stuff you need and nothing you don't and it's a lot cheeper

edit- this is an Australian site so it will be heaps cheeper in pounds

I recommend Dell Computers. They are a tad more expensive than you standard lot, but are very efficient and reliable.
