TMZ is reporting that former superstar Ken Shamrock is now a security guard for rapper 50 Cent.
Shamrock was recognised by fans as part of the rappers security team at the CES Convention in Las Vegas last night. Shamrock seemingly supported the story by saying it was a pleasure working for 50 Cent after the event on Twitter. Shamrock also described 50 Cent as "By far one of the classiest gents I have ever worked with."
Shamrock officially retired from MMA fighting last year in order to return to professional wrestling. However, he did not go into negotiations with any organisation. He was holding out for a big name company to ensure a higher fee. He felt that being a main eventer in the WWE's attitude era, and the first NWA World Heavyweight Champion of the TNA Wrestling era would have opened doors for him. Shamrock damaged his own chances by repeatedly putting down Triple H, claiming that the Chief Operating Officer would possibly stop him returning from WWE. And TNA Wrestling already had 3 MMA fighters on their roster at the time (Curtis Jackson, Tito Ortiz and King Mo), even though they were undergoing budget-cutting measures.
Shamrock's name had been brought up a for several years. Kurt Angle openly objected to WWE stars using either of "his" moves, specifically the Ankle Lock. Shamrock used the submission hold as his finishing move for 3 years before Kurt adopted it. Kurt insisted that he waited until Shamrock had retired before he started using the move, even though Shamrock was still active for a few years thereafter.
