Austin Aries is on the verge of setting the record of longest reigning X Division Champion of all-time. It has been 181 days since Aries won the title at No Surrender. The current record sits at 182 days, held by Christopher Daniels.
TDK's Take:
Personally I think this is a great development. Between this and Cody Rhodes' current IC reign, both companies seem a little more inclined to slow down the title changes and allow the belts to gain some prestige. IMO, a good step in the right direction.
