It is being reported that Bully Ray has walked out of TNA Wrestling.
This is not a story line. TNA had a meeting with executives today to try and discuss a new deal. Today was the day of his final contracted appearance with TNA. After the meeting, Ray told people that he was done and didn't expect to be back.
Ray will still be appearing on a few future episodes of Impact as they have already been taped. But this leaves TNA in a major bind for 3 reasons. First of all, Ray was supposed to be involved with major story lines going into Bound For Glory. Second of all, Ray was supposed to be inducted into the TNA Hall Of Fame with long-time tag team partner Devon.
The third reason is because it also throws Bound For Glory into jeopardy. As the pay-per-view is happening in Tokyo, Japan, the show is dependent on pulling in a major Japanese crowd. As it is a TNA event, they cannot afford to overload the card with Wrestle-1 performers. But they will need to find stars who are well-known in Japan. And Team 3D are definitely big stars in Japan.
Right now, Ray will still be at the Hall of Fame event. But there is no deal in place for Bound For Glory.
We will update you when there is more.
