British actor Richard Lloyd-Pack has passed away.
The veteran actor is best known for his role as Colin “Trigger†Ball in the smash hit U.K. show, ‘Only Fools And Horses’. Although he only appeared in half of the show’s episodes, he was easily one of the show’s more popular characters. The deadpan street-cleaner was ironically nicknamed “Trigger†because he is usually slow at understanding things. In all of his appearances, he persists with calling Rodney, “Daveâ€. In one specific instance, he suggested that Del Boy would call may call his unborn son Rodney, naming him after “Daveâ€.
Many fans of the show have said that “lesser†episodes and scenes were saved due to the inane comments and questions of Trigger. This was especially the case for the Christmas specials produced after the original series ended. In one episode, he hears classical music for the first time and explains it to someone else as “the karaoke versionâ€.
Many of his fans only relate him to ‘Only Fools And Horses’, ‘The Vicar of Dibley’ and ‘The Bill’. A lot of people do not realise that Lloyd-Pack is a veteran, having appeared in shows like ‘The Borgias’, ‘Doctor Who’, ‘Mr. Bean’ and over 100 other television shows. He has even appeared in a few Hollywood films, particularly ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire’. He occasionally used the name Roger Lloyd-Pack.
Lloyd-Pack died of pancreatic cancer at home surrounded by his family. He was 69. He will be missed by a large legion of fans.
