SPOILER ALERT: This story DOES cover events on this week's RAW.

There was a commentary mistake on Raw this week.

Chief Operating Officer Triple H hinted to Cody Rhodes that if he did not beat Randy Orton, then he would be fired.

Michael Cole asked JBL if he had ever been in that situation, and JBL said he hadn't. But he has... twice.

The first occasion was in April 2004. SmackDown General Manager told Faarooq that if the APA did not win their match, then "You're fired". As Bradshaw was there at the same time, it was presumed that Heyman was talking to both men. After losing the match, Bradshaw clearly thought that he had been fired too. It was not until later when Heyman revealed that the warning only extended to Faarooq. This marked the start of the transition into JBL.

The second time was in May 2006. After losing a World Championship Match to an injured Rey Mysterio at the Judgment Day pay-per-view, JBL lost the United States title to Bobby Lashley. JBL vowed to beat Mysterio for the title that same night, or he would quit. He did lose the match, and was subsequently fired for refusing to quit.
