As we reported earlier, Scottish wrestling fan Grado started a social media campaign to get his desired theme song aired on British TV. The campaign failed.

The majority of Grado's marketability resides in his energetic ring entrance, done to 'Like A Prayer' by Madonna. As part of his prize for being a semi-finalist on TNA British Boot Camp 2, Grado was given a chance to perform at the TNA Impact taping in Edinburgh, Scotland. He used his usual theme song during the taping. However, Madonna's record company refused the song be used on the TV broadcast.

Grado managed to get his #SayYesMadonna campaign trending on Twitter and Facebook. He started the campaign after receiving an email indicating that they did not have permission. Even Scottish politicians offered to support the campaign. But they left everything far too late. TNA tried to help Grado by sending two different edits of Impact to Challenge TV in the UK. So if he got permission before Sunday evening, then they could air the original footage.

Suspecting that they would not get permission, they recorded a new theme song for Grado. It opens with a recording of Grado saying his "It's Yer'Sel'!" catchphrase, and then a track that deliberately sounds like 'Like A Prayer'. Fans in attendance can be seen singing along with the original music track.

It has since been noted that actual Scottish wrestler Kay Lee Ray was kept of the show to avoid taking attention away from Grado. It is interesting to note that Grado received a strongly mixed reaction from his local crowd. On the previous episode of Impact, Grado received a good reaction from the crowd, even though he didn't have a match. Drew Galloway (formerly Drew McIntyre in WWE) made his debut immediately after the match ended.

As a cheap shot against Madonna, Challenge TV intentionally aired a Facebook commercial immediately after Grado's match. The advert also used a version of Madonna's 'Like A Prayer'. This was a blatant reference to Grado's social media campaign.

At one point it was believed that Grado was offered a deal with TNA. This was based on how his match was promoted and booked, and that he was invited to the US by TNA recently. It was speculated that he was going to appear on some of the One Night Only shows, but he was not on hand for any of them.
