do any mods work on mupen64plus

i prefer playing mupen64plus instead of project 64 because it works straight out of the box. i also use an xbox one controller and it detects it right away along with the control settings which by the way is amazing for the AKI games.

i am wondering if any full mods work on mupen64plus instead project 64. let me know.
