I loaded Showdown 64 finally to take a look at the game. Great job CBV.

Now, I can't figure out how to dump textures using 2.1. Do I need to create a folder(s)?

Is it still
1) f5
2) I guess would be - configure graphics plugin, advanced tab, find texture dumping and in drop down menu choose "dump all textures"
3) f7

options\graphics plugin\advanced

Make sure you untick 'hide advanced options" so you can see the 'advanced' tab. Your dumped textures will appear in the "textures_save" folder.

Where is the "textures_save" folder located? It's been awhile since I messed with this but I do remember deleting a folder named that. Why I deleted it I don't know.

Something's not right on my end. Here's a pic of where I made the "textures_save" (no quotes) folder. Do I keep the Jabo's 1.7 ver5 plugin and use that to dump or do I need a rice plugin?

That's my fault. It should be labeled textures-save, sorry about that.

I don't want to take up all your time. I've been trying to get this working for 2 1/2 hours now. Whenever you have some spare time put up pics of your plugin settings and what the contents of your pj64 2.1 folder consists of.

If anyone else can put up pics it I'd appreciate the help.

I'm on a droid so I can't help you at the moment, but WldFb has a great 2.1 setup guide with pictures.

If this is the thread you're talking about I don't think it will solve my problem. WldfB only shows a couple option settings and jcsix shows a bunch of settings which I already did except the controller plugin. (Confusing when I try to sort out the talk about getting pj 64 1.6 to work with 2.1. Not concerned about making 1.6 textures work with 2.1)

The problem I'm guessing has to do with how my folders are set up in 2.1 not the settings.

Does anyone else dump textures in this forum? Throw up some pics not just for me but for all the people that don't know how to do it. I can't be the only one, I'm just the only one asking.

Edit: The directories could also be wrong (not sure which if any would control the dumping of textures) jcsix's demo settings doesn't show his whole path. They will also vary depending on how people set them up but they should all end the same way. Only the beginning would be different.

Create a folder named "textures-save". Inside that folder create a new folder "WWF No Mercy (U) (V1.0)"

8Tj5CRA.jpg

Open Project64.exe, go to Options/Settings, uncheck the "Hide Advanced Settings" and click ok.

sAyLuoX.jpg

Now go to Options/Configure Graphics Plugin, select the Advanced tab

Save and Load.
Now you should be able to see the textures in textures-save\WWF No Mercy (U) (V1.0)\xxxxxxxxxx.png

Thanks for the help. What plugin or more specifically what .dll are you using? Jabos Direct 3D8 1.0.7. 57 -ver5 doesn't seem to be dumping. Do I still need to use Rice plugins, if so which one(s)? Everytime I put Rice dll's in I get an ini error and they are not on the drop down menu for graphic plugin options.

I made the folders you suggested but it's still not dumping.

That's strange. I'm using default Jabos Direct 3D8 1.0.7. 57 -ver5 plugin, rice plugins has no work to do here. Are you sure you're following these steps using default plugin?

Upload screenshots of your settings, it might be a little easy for us to know whats wrong.

There main problem is your location, I guess. Editing/replacing/adding anything in C:\Program File requires permission and that's the reason your pc is preventing Project64 from extracting textures. Try installing it to another drive like D:\ or E:\

My settings is slightly different.

Your current plugin directory is set to Project64 2.1\Plugin\GFX...
1) Set your Plugin Directory to:
(Drive)\Project64 2.1\Plugin\

2) In Recompiler tick TLB Unmapping. I don't know what it does but it's checked in my settings, so I would suggest you to do it, too.

You didn't upload screenshots of "Configure Graphics Plugin" settings. I'd like to see that aswell.

Took me awhile to get back to you but I was trying to get it right before I asked a question again. What you said in last post did the trick.

1. ticked the TLB but idk if it does anything

2. switched from C: to D: which immediately solved the problem of dumping. BUT Textures wouldn't load after that. (I fixed it)

2A. I had to change the Directory paths. Two of them kept the C: and I also had to take out "program files"

was C:\program files\ pj64 2.1....
changed to D:\pj64 2.1...

THANK YOU very much and also to CBV who first answered. I figured there had to be something wrong with my whole setup - folder directory thing but I didn't know what of course. problem solved and I'll pass this along to anyone else that has a problem.
