Evan Bourne Enters Rehab?

During AfterBuzz.com's post-show for Monday's RAW SuperShow, SmackDown ring announcer Lilian Garcia's husband Chris Jozeph mentioned in passing that Evan Bourne is in rehab when the topic of tag team partner Kofi Kingston's match against The Miz was brought up. If this is true, it's likely a last-ditch effort to save his job.

WWE announced on Jan. 17 that Bourne had been suspended for 60 days for his second violation of the company's Talent Wellness Program. The RAW Superstar then went on Twitter to apologize to fans for his misdeed.

"Sorry y'all. Sometimes we become our own worst enemy," he tweeted.

It should be noted that we can't confirm if Bourne is in rehab as of this writing so take this for what it's worth.

*******

If it's true I certainly wish him all the best on the road to recovery. As someone who's worked with thousands of rehab clients my heart goes out to anyone facing this struggle.

I think rehab for a pot habit is a bit much. Maybe is he was banging dope or something.... but rehab for pot?

Agreed. It doesn't really seem to add up. But then again, that's par for the course when you only get bits and pieces of the story.

Good point. Also, when you are a public figure, I guess it comes with the territory.

It makes perfect sense to me.

First of all, he failed one of his test for a synthetic form of pot. There haven't been enough studies to deduce what effects that stuff really has.

And professional wrestlers take physical abuse for a living. Smaller wrestlers tend to get dropped with more force than larger ones. And if they are high-flyers, their limbs crash into the timber and concrete more often. Someone like Bourne can really get banged up.

But these wrestlers don't just take pot for recreation. They take it to reduce the aches that come from their occupation. There are better ways to deal with pain management. Professional help in overcoming this habit seems like a good idea to me. But whether it is something straight forward, or complete detoxification and re-education, the therapies have the same name - Rehab.

And then again, we have no idea what, or how much, Bourne has been doing.

I live in a State where medicinal pot is encouraged, and I can tell you this, I've smoked TONS of that stuff.

No worse than a few bowls and a cigarette. Tastes weird, fucks you up pretty good.... but it isn't really anything too special. I'd rather smoke hash. Smells and tastes better. :)

I don't get that Pot use for pain management crap, I find if Im in pain and I smoke it gets worse I think its because I cant stop thinking about my injures like when I broke my leg and got high all I could think about my bone fibres snapping and my skin getting torn open from a bone shard, weed sucked that day.

*edit*
I know in the states its used to treat terminally ill patients but wouldn't that make you more scared of dying? getting high and then thinking Im gonna die soon that would suck.

Same here... I was always more of a hash man myself, plus that way you don't have to smoke a ton of paper.

I haven't read a lot about this, but my impression is that a sense of 'paranoia' or impending doom is only experienced occasionally by a limited number of people. If it was the norm, few people would risk using it for medicinal purposes.

I can see why people smoke weed to help ease there injuries or pain!

I myself suffer from Sciatica. Its basically nerve trapment in the lower back and can cause severe pain in the back, legs, lower body. I have been fortunate recently not to have to much pain, but when I get a bad case of it, I roll up a sweet joint and it helps me tremendously.

Smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol is way worse. Weed is natural and not mixed with crap! I buy pure weed and not stuff mixed with rat poison etc.

I think depending on what your frame of mind is, smoking weed can cause issues and not help the situation.

Being a wrestler is a hard life, i am sure. I can see why guys like RVD promote and encourage people to smoke weed! It sure helps me at times.
