In an attempt to bring a different approach to No Mercy mod sharing, I'm now giving ANYONE permission to use my mods in anyway they please. I've done this for a few reasons:
On other modding communities for different games, this is pretty much the standard. No one makes a fuss over "thieves" and such, because in the end, we make our mods for other people to play and use them. Though I would like credit to be given where it is due, I know that impossible for every case. Not like I can complain, I couldn't tell you the names of the original programmers for No Mercy, so if it doesn't happen, sure, it'll be a bummer, but my life will go on.
If you decide to edit any of my work, please give credit, if you do not, you are a dick.... but I won't come for you, nor should anyone else. I made the mods, I posted them online, if I didn't want other people to use them I shouldn't have posted them in the first place.
Many other gaming communities have a similar approach, and I think they are spot on with it. Sure, this means that somewhere down the line someone is going to post a shitty compilation save and take credit for my work, however, I really don't care, anymore. The more people that have fun with my mods, the happier I am, even if I don't get praise for it. I think there is a lot of negativity in the No Mercy modding community over pointless squabbles over stolen work. Hey, it is the internet. It happens, and I'm fine with it, now.
Thanks for your time, guys.
