Formula problems

Guys, when trying to create a superstar without mpk, using a formula, I've got a problem. When it states in formula "light red", "dark blue" and etc, I don't know what this light or dark means. Cause the colors in the scale are regular, not dark or light. Is there a way to somehow edit the colors, to make them dark or light? It's important, cause as I've noticed, when some color doesn't fit exactly to the formula instructions - it screws up the whole picture. Help, please!

The c up and down buttons change the lightness of the colors.
