There is a lot of frustration right now over the way Vince McMahon is building up WrestleMania XXX.
Vince McMahon is insisting that several matches are already locked in place, although several participants have not yet agreed to be a part of the show. Vince is also insisting on a specific main event, even though it has been nixed multiple times.
Vince still wants the ‘McMahon vs McMahon’ match to be the main event. Both Stephanie and Vince will have a representative in the match. The winning McMahon will gain control of the company. Stephanie will be represented by her husband, the current COO Triple H. Vince will be represented by someone NOT on the active roster. Management and the Board of Directors have already said that they definitely do not want this match to happen. But Vince already has the writers working it in on current scripts. That is why the ring announcers have been introducing Stephanie as “The Owner of the WWEâ€.
Vince is certain that Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker / The Rock will still happen, as well as Goldberg vs Ryback. However, Undertaker, Rock and Goldberg have all refused to do the proposed matches.
Brock Lesnar will likely want to win at WM as he has never won at the pay-per-view (WM19?) and has losses to Goldberg and Triple H. But Undertaker and the Rock know that their next WM match could be their last one, and neither wants to face Lesnar for it. The Rock is happy that the WWE Championship match against John Cena as the headline for WM29 could be his final match. Both of his matches with Cena have left him with multiple injuries, which in turn negatively affect his career as an action movie star. Lesnar is considered to be much stronger than Cena, but intentionally rough and clumsy against people he does not like. Also, Lesnar has repeatedly said that he would hurt Undertaker if they ever had another match together. As WM could be Lesnar’s last match, Undertaker does not want to work with someone who would not be in the WWE after the match.
Goldberg was in talks with the WWE to do the match with Ryback. However, Goldberg ended the negotiations after Vince McMahon and Ryback started building up the match before a deal had been reached. Goldberg has been very clear that he does not want to do it anymore.
McMahon is also convinced that Batista, Rob Van Dam and Stone Cold Steve Austin will also be active on the show. Austin has already turned it down due to health issues. Batista and Rob Van Dam have both signed deals to be at the show, but no one knows when they will be back (or Lesnar either). It makes it very difficult for writers to come up with any decent plans for them.
