Before the movie :
I didn't plan to wathc this movie because i don't like World War I/II movies but i was sick all week and needed to go out when i finally felt better, so i didn't go watch it with high hopes, thinking it was going to be another "Fuck yeah 'murika" kind of thing.
Movie Plot :
April 1945, Sergeant Don Collier commands a tank called Fury who lost his gunner in battle.
Back at the camp he gets a young typist, Norman, as a replacement. Being a gunner isn't easy for the young man and isn't accepted by the rest of the crew because he is too soft and lacks experience.
The crew will have to do their best as they're sent to hold a crossing along with two other tanks, things won't turn too well during the mission.
Being the last rampart to stop the Germans, they will have to fight when the situation doesn't look good for them.
My impressions :
+ Raw violence. The movie doesn't go into over the top violence and gory scenes, but it's war, it's dirty and when there is a graphic thing the camera doesn't turn away.
+ Norman. I felt like the character is the viewers, he starts as an innocent man, discovers the horror with us and feels the way we would if we were him.
+ Immersion. The way it's filmed makes us feel like we are part of the crew, we are inside the tank with them, we see through the window of it. The character are part of the crew since a long time, there are bonds between them, we see it, we feel it.
- The lunch scene is too long. I see why it's here but i think it should have been shorter.
- Bible and religion. Sorry but i have a hard time standing long quotes from religions. Anyone can BOlieve what they want but when a character speaks almost only by quoting the Bible i think it's a bit silly.
To conclude, Fury is a good movie. Even if i don't really like WW movies, the way Fury shows it is a good reminder of what happened by showing the ugliness of it.
One weird thing that happened, i often stay in the room during the credit to get the name of "that actor/actress i know the face but not the name " while a lot of people are leaving, during Fury's credit it was the first time i saw no one moving or talking until the credits ended, it was like everyone was KO after watching it.
Because of that, i think a lot of people should watch it, maybe you won't like it because of the kind of movie or violence or anything else but the way all the room reacted makes me think a lot of people might at least feel for it.

A word about the Maze Runner
I saw it last week but didn't write a review because it already made me loose too much time, i found it awful in the way that i simply didn't care about what i was watching hence why i had nothing to say in a review except that it's bad.
This year, Divergent and the Maze Runner proved that adapting a book doesn't ensure a good movie. The movie has to be worked, they can't sell only on a title.
