Good and Bad news for the roster

The Good News: Expect there to be an influx of new faces on Raw and SmackDown. The main aim is to build up the Divas division, but male superstars will be promoted too.

But do not try to guess who will be called up. The list of suggested names have been deemed 'surprising'. Some of the most promising prospects will not be called up to try and keep the NXT brand strong. There is also concern that some of the suggested names are being called up based on their look more than anything else.

The Bad News: The roster has been expecting a major clean-up for some time.

In order to allow new people onto the main roster, others will have to be removed. And there are very many people, mainly cruiserweights and tag team performers, that are expecting to be let go.

During her senate campaigns, Linda McMahon received a lot of criticism for the high volume of staff members that are let go by the WWE each year. In the course of one weekend in August 2011, six promising stars were fired. CM Punk mentioned this on RAW during the height of his popularity. The release of David Hart Smith, Luke Gallows, Vance Archer, Chris Masters, Gail Kim and Melina was brought to public attention. Linda's critics would then bring this up a lot thereafter. This prompted Vince McMahon to be even more discreet about letting people go. But now the Linda is no longer chasing a career in politics, there is no need to be cautious.

It is very simple. Linda was running to be the Senator of the state where WWE Incorporated is based. Vince McMahon could then use more unethical practices to maximise profit, knowing that Linda will either help, or refuse to punish the WWE.

The WWE insists that all wrestlers are "independent contractors". This means that they are not allowed some of the privileges that most working Americans are allowed, e.g. access to worker's unions, pensions or help with health care. But the WWE does not allow them to work for other organisations, which independent contractors are normally allowed to do.

But the thing is, Linda was the CEO of the WWE for nearly 30 years. And she is still married to the man that owns the company. If people knew that Linda was allowing her husband (or she herself) to commit such poor treatment of employees, voters will not trust her. So the WWE had to change to pretend that Linda and Vince are honest bosses.

She said that she wouldn't.

And anyway, I think there is a maximum on how many times someone can run. I think it is 2. Maybe someone who understand US law better than I do can clarify that.
