Help with GTA V

Hi guys. I have a laptop with 4GB of RAM and a R7 M256DX graphic card, which has 2GB dedicated and 2GB shared. But when I go to options the game says I have 1GB of graphics and the grapich required it's too high for the laptop. But if I ignore the video card limit the game runs fine, with no problems. Does this happen because I have a CrossFire card? Can I damage my graphic card even if the game runs fine? Thx in advance
