<table><tr><td>Henry claims he's "100 percent"

WWE wrestler Mark Henry claimed Thursday night that he is "100 percent" healthy. Henry, who has battled injuries over the past three months, has gone from a dominant heel character to an enhancement wrestler, mainly for Sheamus and Big Show. Henry tweeted, "Twitter nation it is I Mr hall of pain himself. All that oppose will suffer! Today I say to you I AM 100%. Let the wig splitting begin."

TDK's Take:

To be honest, I'm not much of a Mark Henry fan. But I do think this story raises the issue of how performers are often pressured into working hurt for fear of losing their spot. I can cite examples - in other sports - where athletes don't lose their position as a result of injury. That this often fails to translate in WWE is - I think - highly regrettable and reflects badly on the organization. -_- </td><td>

Thing is, Wrestling is more like a entertainment industry, once one is out of a picture for a while, no one remembers who he is and thus not gain much support. In sports, as long as you can help the team win in the future, still have awesome abilities, your spot will always be there even if come back from injury.

Fair enough, I think you make a good point. The only thing I'd take issue with is I think most people would still remember who you are. Other than that, I'd suggest they should at least be given the opportunity to work their way back into a major storyline. Whether Henry gets that opportunity - or just how long it takes - we'll have to wait and see.

Hmm. I think I said it the wrong way, what I should say is that one may lose his/her steam due to long absence, thus losing their popularity with the fans, as other wrestlers may have risen up and took over the main event scence, and we all know how limited spots there is in it.
