There is a rumour circulating that one WWE higher up strongly pushed for William 'Paul Bearer' Moody to be kept out of the Hall of Fame... because he is dead?

The WWE had reached an agreement to induct Moody into the Hall Of Fame this year since his death a year ago. But one person, who contributes to deciding what legends get inducted, apparently rejected to putting a deceased star into the Hall. While the name of this individual has not been released, it is being suggested that he is the only one who voted against Moody going in.

The complaint was based on a concern in 2012 that too many deceased stars were being proposed for the HOF. The fear was that if too many were inducted, the ceremony would be less interesting to fans, and the focus would be mainly on death. Then there is the obvious problem that dead people cannot make acceptance speeches live. Last year's class was the only one so far in which all entrants were alive at the time of induction. This was helped by the fact that most of the entrants were younger than the average at time of induction, and the class was smaller than usual.

Moody served as a manager in several companies. But he will be best known for his role of Paul Bearer in WWE. The portly mortician debuted alongside the Undertaker in 1990. He had a knack for gaining control of "monsters", guiding Undertaker, Kane, Mankind, Goldust, Viscera, the Acolytes and Mideon at various stages. He was no stranger to dangerous spots and was also involved with 2 different stunts in which he was seemingly killed on air.

Moody was already in talks to join this year's Hall Of Fame class when he passed away. Due to his death being so close to WrestleMania 29, it was decided not to induct him any earlier. But his family very quickly agreed to a deal, believing it to be a suitable tribute.
