Finally saw it !
Before the movie :
I haven't read the novel it's based on and i can't really explain why but ever since the first photos and infos about this movie came out 2 years ago i thought this movie could be interesting, then came the trailers and i was hoping this movie would be different from what we use to see.
Movie Plot :
Ignatius "Ig" Perrish wakes up after a night of drinking, the whole city is at his door, accusing him of the murder of his girlfriend Merrin. Ig defends himself, sure he didn't hurt the love of his life and intends to prove it with the help of his family and Lee, his lawyer and childhood friend.
The morning after, things turn a bit weird as Ig notices horns growing on his forehead. Those horns have a strange effect on people around Ig, everyone seem to unleash their deep thoughts, what they try to hide because other people would think it's wrong.
Ig will seek the truth to find Mereen's killer but everything seems to prove him guilty.
Will his horns be a curse or a blessing in his quest ?
My impressions :
+ Good actors. Radcliffe as the main character is doing a great job, the rest of the cast is very good too.
+ Mixing tones. In 2 hours the movie succeeds to be touching, funny even straight up goofy at times and fascinating.
+ The soundtrack. A lot of those musics got in my head as i was watching the movie.
+ Not boring. Even when the pace slows, there is always something that keeps you in the movie and you don't end up staring at your watch.
- The end. The last 10 minutes are meh. It was easy to guess how things would turn and it isn't a huge finale, a small letdown here.
To conclude, Horns was a great movie. Not everyone will like it because of it's mix of tones, some ideas and scenes seemed to offend some people but i'd advise you to give it a try. Maybe you won't like the movie, but i think it brings something different and worth watching. It's a movie you can enjoy with your loved one because of its love story or by yourself thanks to it's unbridled scenes.
