WWE.com has announced that JBL has successfully climbed Mt. Elbrus.
As reported yesterday, John Layfield was nearly killed after a snowstorm pushed him and his team off the mountain. He had been treated in hospital for hypoxia and frostbite.
But the team gave the climb another shot, and they have now beaten Mr. Elbrus in Russia.
He climbed for 8 hours to reach 17,500 feet. This was 1,000 feet away from the top. But weather conditions were so rough that he nearly got thrown from the mountain again. So JBL planted a WWE flag, and made his way back down.
JBL is still dealing with frostbite. But he plans to climb the next mountain later this week. He is attempting to climb the largest land based mountain on every continent to raise money for children's charities.
