Quote:

-- When asked on his Twitter if the Chris Jericho - CM Punk angle was getting too personal, Jim Ross replied, "That's what sells." Ross went on to note that he will not be picking winners for WrestleMania.

-- The Daily Star has an interview with Nigel McGuinness. During the interview, he admitted that he can't watch WWE because it's too painful for him knowing that he will never get into WWE. "I can't watch WWE," said McGuinness. "It's just too painful. I am forever happy that Dragon [Daniel Bryan] and [CM] Punk got to that stage, to prove that those of us that paid our dues and did well on the Independents were as good as the hype.

"I'm not sure I'll ever come to terms with not getting to WWE, but the fact that Dragon did somehow makes it OK."[/quote]

Has he ever explained why he retired from wrestling and his sudden absence in TNA for a while? There doesn't seem to be any info. And really, I kinda miss his matches.

The reason why he retired is medical. It is the exact same reason why he never qualified from the WWE.

When McGuinness, Punk, Danielson, Hero and Castagnoli were offered their WWE contracts, each one of them had to do an important medical examination (which is part of the Wellness Policy). They aren't just looking for signs of steroid use, they are checking for serious medical conditions.

I have only heard rumours about what was wrong with McGuinness. But if what I have heard is true, then he did the right thing in stepping away. TNA were so keen to steal him away from the WWE that they chose not to test him. His medical condition did not come to light again until he suffered a minor injury that needed medical attention.

Yeah I read it as a medical condition too. I've heard rumors about him having kidney and liver problems, but not brain damage. Sigh, he was such an entertaining wrestler to watch. I wonder what could have been if he was signed to WWE.

The word is, but this has not been confirmed, that he has a sexually transmitted infection. Because it is not confirmed, I do not want to say too much about it. But it remains in the blood and is passed quite easily if he bleeds.

I was once in an 8-man match in which one of the participant's blood tests results came back inclusive. As his previous 3 blood tests were fine, he was allowed to compete. He got cut open during the match, as did all of the other performers. He got his blood on all of us. A week after the match, he tested positive for a serious STI. Because he bled in the match, we were all warned to get tested again. As the only person in the match to not sustain a cut, I was the only one who did not contract the STI. So all six guys got it from his blood.

Oh man. If that's really the case, his reputation would really be hurt. But woah, what kind of STI will be that bad unless it's...HIV? Hopefully it isn't.

From what I heard, it was Hepititus C. I could give you more information on how this will affect his life and career, but I really do not know how it has been treated. He did nothing about it until he had the WWE test, as he didn't know he had it. And I don't know what he did after signing with TNA. But judging by the types of matches that he had in the first six months, it is possible that he ignored it for a long time.
