Kick-Ass 2 MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

Before the movie :

When the first movie came out i thought it would be a lame kid movie and kept that idea for long, bored to death yesterday, i decided to watch it and saw that i was wrong and enjoyed the movie so i decided to go to the cinema today watch the second one. I won't say much about the cast because except the ones who were on the first movie, the only actors i already knew were Jim Carrey and Donald Faison (Turk in Scrubs)

Movie Plot :

After Big Daddy's death, his former cop co-worker, Marcus, is in charge of Hit Girl. He put her to the same school as Kick-Ass. Marcus believes she stopped her vigilante actions but instead of going to school she goes trainning. Kick-Ass stopped fighting crime, his actions inspired other people to be heroes and he decides to come back, he asks Hit Girl to train him to become a real Super Hero.
Marcus learns that Hit Girl is still fighting crime and makes her promise she will stop, wanting to work with other heroes, Kick-Ass joins a team named Justice Forever.
Meanwhile, Chris D'Amico (Red Mist) accidentally kills his mother, he decides to become the first super villain named The Motherfucker and creates a super villain crew to take revenge over Kick-Ass who killed his father.
Cops will go after every masked guy, good or bad, and the Motherfucker's crew will attack Justice Forever, this will affect Kick-Ass and his friends, will Hit Girl be able to live a normal life while the villains are rising ?

My impressions :

+ The crews are funny, on one side you have the good guys who are loosers wearing spandex and on the other side you have the bad guys who are stereotypes/almost racist jokes.
+ Violent. I know some critics put it as a bad thing but the movie is about heroes in a real world so it adds to the "reality" idea and makes the funny parts more likeable as they stand out more.
+ Even the part with Hit Girl trying to live a normal life are interesting as she never knew that kind of life and struggles not to beat some asses and touching when she is rejected.

- Some jokes are too childish
- Chris D'Amico's uncle is said to be the one who rules the family but is only seen five minutes in the movie and barely mentionned in the rest of the movie, maybe he'll be the next bad guy in a third movie (if there is one) but either only mention him or give him the last scene instead of only showing him 5mns in the middle of the movie
- Once again the love stories of the main character. Remember his girlfriend from the first movie ? me neither and i watched it yesterday, she is still there but useless, then he has an affair with another girl which is barely useful to the plot.

To conclude, this sequel is great. Doing it a direct sequel to the 1st movie and keeping the bad guy makes the movie faster, you don't lose time explaining who he is because you already know him from the first one. It's funny, it's bloody, watching it with friends would make it even more enjoyable i guess.
Side note : Stay until the end, there is a scene after the credits

Thanks for posting this. I genuinely have been looking for people who have seen the movie. I don't know whether it is worth taking a chance on or not. I have been let down by so many fringe comic movies lately (What the hell was Dredd supposed to be!?!?)

Well, i don't pretend to be a professional critic, i just give my opinion so maybe you won't like that movie but if i'd say go watch it, the movie doesn't takes itself seriously and is a good laugh.

About Dredd, i wasn't in a normal state when i watched it, kept laughing like a dumbass, i should rewatch it maybe.

Professional critics rate movies by a set of guidelines, few of which involve actually enjoying a movie. So I am more likely to trust someone with similar entertainment tastes, than a "professional".
