Laurinaitis "living his angle"

As previously reported, even though John Laurinaitis defeated John Cena at Over The Limit, WWE has been insisting that Laurinaitis has picked up several injuries.

In order to make his injuries seem real, Laurinaitis appeared on Raw with crutches and a mobility scooter. He has been seen in public using crutches to get around.

Laurinaitis did pick up a genuine injury at OTL, but there is no word on what happened. It is believed that his real injury is minor and is the result of not having warmed up properly before his match.

John Laurinaitis used to have a very successful career in Japan under the name Johnny Ace. While wrestlers in Japan are generally known to be tough, Laurinaitis in particular had a reputation for being able to absorb pain. The injuries that WWE insists that he has are more common for people with no wrestling, martial art, or gymnastic experience at all. Even though this was his first proper match in over 10 years, Laurinaitis is in better physical condition than he appears.

This was only his 3rd ever match in WWE, with the others being squash matches against CM Punk and Teddy Long earlier this year.

At least he lives his fake injuries unlike other superstars... people don't even act in character in public anymore.

He booked himself in a match against Punk last December, but allowed Punk to hit him with the GTS. It was still counted as a win for Punk.

And shortly before WrestleMania, the two GMs switched brands for one week. He booked a match against long, claiming that if Long won, then Aksana would have to face Kane. Kane tried to interfere, but Randy Orton knocked Kane out. Teddy took advantage of the distraction and pinned Laurinaitis.

I remember when Sandman did the "forced to retire" angle, ECW pretended that he had been blinded in a match against Tommy Dreamer. Sandman refused to leave the house for the whole time, and never even went near a window or answered the door, so people would believe the angle.
