The planned Big Show vs Triple H match is no longer happening.

Big Show has been involved with a major story line with both Triple H and Stephanie McMahon for the last several months. It was all building up to a showdown between Big Show and Triple H. The match was originally scheduled for Survivor Series, but was then pushed back to TLC - Tables, Ladders and Chairs. There was a feeling that this would take away from the Champion vs Champion main event, so it was then postponed again until Royal Rumble. Now the match has been called off, and the feud is no longer happening.

The reason why the match is called off is because the WWE does not feel that Big Show would draw in pay-per-view buys. We already reported on how Big Show was being blamed for the poor Survivor Series buy rate days before the event took place. The feeling is that fans did not pay to see the show because Big Show was in the main event.

The McMahons, and particularly Triple H, have deluded themselves into thinking that Triple H is the biggest draw in the company. They believe that every time Triple H wrestles at a pay-per-view, it generates a lot of sales. Apparently, this has nothing to do with the fact that Triple H books himself onto shows that normally do very well (WrestleMania and SummerSlam). And many of his matches feature guys who do generate a lot of sales, like Brock Lesnar and Undertaker. It should be noted that both Night Of Champions and TLC - Tables, Ladders and Chairs in 2011 both did very badly despite having Triple H in a key match.

John Cena or Randy Orton have been in nearly every pay-per-view main event for the last 2 years. The WWE is still convinced that they bring in the most fans, even though sales continue to plummet.
