Major problems with current direction

The current plans for WrestleMania are already proving to be the hardest possible.

WWE officials have decided that they want The Rock to beat CM Punk for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble, and then defend it against John Cena at WrestleMania 29.

If the Rock does win the title then, this effectively suspends the WWE Championship for 3 whole months. The Rock will not be available for ANY matches between the Rumble and WM pay per views. This will mean John Cena will be the only contender to the championship for that time. And no stars can be made on the Raw roster until the Over The Limit pay-per-view in May.

They are trying to convince the Rock to appear at Elimination Chamber in February, but they are assuming that he may not appear. And there is almost no chance of him competing in a match there.

Strongly disagree with that. He only came back to the WWE because his movie career was failing. Once he returned, his movies were suddenly major successes, and he is back in demand. The Rock needs the WWE to keep him relevant.

And if he wants to take months off at a time, he can't do it with the WWE Championship.

Indeed. I do not agree with WWE giving him the championship and not having to defend it for 3 months.

CM Punk has done what Cena has done for the past 1 year in regards to dealing with media, video games, TV interviews and its is insulting for him to loose the title to someone who has more interest in a hollywood career than putting it all with a wrestling company.

Rock is cool and all and he did a lot for the business in the 90's leading into 00's, but he choose to take a new career path and not WWE.

If it was up to me... Make Punk/Cena/Rock at WM 29.

Then Punk can have a long title reign, Cena can get his title back without Punk being pinned, Rock can look like a contender without looking stronger than two men who has wrestled 364 more days than him, and "Once in a Lifetime" can actually be true.
