Quote:

After dropping the World Heavyweight title months earlier than expected at WWE's December TLC due to a groin injury, Henry was injured once again at Tuesday's WWE SmackDown tapings from Tuscon, AZ.

Mark Henry is believed to have suffered a hyper-extended knee during his match with the Big Show, which will air tonight on SyFy. Henry, who has dealt with knee problems in the past, threw a punch without properly planting his foot.

A reader who watched the Australian broadcast of SmackDown (which airs a day earlier down under) said it was clear that something went very wrong after Henry collapsed "like he had been shot in the thigh" and immediately exited the ring in pain. They immediately cut to commercial and the match eventually ended in a count out.

According to a script of SmackDown that has been circulating online this week, the original plan was for Daniel Bryan to attack Big Show with a chair. Show was supposed to make a comeback, chokeslam Bryan and leave him laid out. The show would then end with Henry delivering a big splash to Bryan, closing scene being Bryan destroyed in the ring.[/quote]

I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw this. It kind of reminded me of the time Kevin Nash pulled a quad just stepping over a guy. I know Henry's had an ongoing groin issue, but it still seems sad when you hurt yourself just throwing a punch.

Well first thing the day earlier thing is complete Bull shit we sometimes get it a week if not more later.. but I did see that and Henry did try and get up and get back into it so Im guessing it was a torn meniscus if it were a hyper-extended or dislocated knee that Huge fucker would have stayed down worlds strongest man or not.

That fucking sucks, Henry's push has been so good, and with Wrestlemania looming, this is the absolute wrong time to get injured.

Henry wasn't in the Rumble. He was in the World title match.

And this is the WWE's fault. Henry was forced to drop the title because of an injury. He should have been given a realistic chance to recover from it. Yes, he may have chosen to do so. But the WWE as his employers should have been more responcible for his well-being.

The WWE has a long history of pushing guys to work while hurt. And they ALWAYS become bigger injuries or Wellness Policy failures. Where has Mysterio been for the last few month? Oh yes, recovering from a major knee surgery because the WWE wouldn't let him rest a minor knee sprain.

Christian, Sin Cara, Big Show, Mark Henry, Kevin Nash, Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio are now all injured going into WrestleMania. And EVERY one of them were encouraged to work through injuries instead of resting. Undertaker is not on TV right now because he is still recovering from injuries suffered LAST YEAR.
