I'm pleased for Swagger but I really don't appreciate how the Ryder story got sucked into the vortex known as John Cena.

Is WWE incapable of managing TWO stories at the same time? Why ruin what they had going with Ryder for the sake of building a credible opponent for Cena? Was there no other way to convince the universe that Kane is bad?

Note to Zach Ryder: Stay away from Cena, it never ends well.

Just to be objective here, without Cena giving Ryder props, we probably would have never had him on TV.

I am disappointed that this was the best they could do to build up Kane. It's Rumble season, why not have a battle royal on RAW, and let Kane kick everyone's ass? Sounds believable to me.

I think management wants to bury Ryder, because he broke the rules on how a star breaks out. He did it on his own... I bet that pisses off a lot of political players.

Objectivity is good, and there's two sides to every story - so ya, shades of gray.

I think my biggest concern here is WWE's fixation with putting all their eggs in one basket. For whatever reason they seem dead set against having 'secondary stars' who can stand on their own without being subjugated into the primary story line.

They've given us a steady diet of this for years, and all it's lead to is a series of crises every time the top guy gets hurt and a fan base that always seems to lament the fact there's no new stars being built.

IMO, not the best way to run a business.

Great point. I can agree with ya, there.

WWE usually has about two or three "top guys", with everyone else just kinda being there, it seems. Before it was easy to over-look, when we had guys like Eddie and Benoit giving the second tier belts credibility. Now it just seems to be thrown on someone out of boredom.

Makes for a boring roster.

True that. But it could be very different as there's lots of talent there if it was just utilized properly. It seems a shame to piss it all away for the sake of staying locked in a system that completely revolves around the two or three guys on top.

Just my opinion...

I would agree with that.

What would happen, if by some weird twist of fate, Cena, Orton, and Punk all died in a fire?

I'll tell you what would happen, Triple H would be champ for life. Or Nash.

Or Hogan.

You got it the wrong way around Phil.

Cena giving Ryder props is Cena trying to stay relevant and get himself over with the fans again.

Haven't you noticed that they only cheer him when he is talking about Ryder? Because, trust me, Cena and the WWE have noticed.

I agree, for the most part. However, go back and watch Z Long Island True story, Ryder completely builds up Cena. From what I hear, they actually are friends in real life. I honestly don't see that a coincidence.

I know they are trying to keep Cena relevant. From his TNA references, to his other half shoot attempts. I understand completely. Don't get me wrong. I just think that if Cena hadn't been so high on Ryder in the first place, a lot of his on-air heat may not have happened.

Kevin Nash for WWE Champ!
