TMZ is reporting that Matt Hardy and his wife Reby Sky have were both arrested earlier this month.

They were staying in the Hamption Inn in Emporia, VA., when staff called the police. TMZ has also released the police mug shots and a recording of the 911 call. A staff member claimed that another guest had warned the receptionist that “somebody’s beating the hell out of his wife, a girl or something.” Police arrested both Hardy and Sky, and booked them with assault and battery. They were later released on $3,500 bail. The mug shots show both have facial bruising, while Matt’s face is heavily scratched too.

TMZ is also reporting that both Hardy and Sky have filed restraining orders against one another. But both individuals have been posting normal photos of themselves on their respective social media accounts since the incident. Matt even stood up to an internet troll on Twitter who threatened to rape and kill Sky.

Neither Matt nor Sky has made any kind of comment regarding the incident. Although Matt has been giving his opinion on the recent CM Punk situation (his comments can be read in the CM Punk topic).

For years, it had looked like Matt was suffering the consequences of being “the good brother”. His sibling Jeff had caused a lot of trouble for the pair in multiple companies due to his drug and alcohol issues, and repeated unprofessionalism. In 2012, Jeff appeared to have his issues in order, while Matt continued on a downward spiral. He had crashed cars multiple times after driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. He also posted a lot of strange posts on Twitter and YouTube. Fans called police after one video looked like an apparent suicide note. He was even kicked out of WWE sponsored rehab for drinking during the detox program. Matt seemed to have sorted himself out last year.

Matt is currently blacklisted from both WWE and TNA Wrestling. Matt pressured officials into firing him in late 2010. Matt stopped being careful in the ring, and used his social media accounts to annoy his employers. Two of the videos showed Rey Mysterio, who was unaware that he was being filmed, going about his daily life with his mask off. After his release, Matt then broke the “90-Day No Compete” clause by appearing on TNA programming too soon. The WWE cared to little to do anything about it. He was then released by TNA Wrestling after 2 separate DUI arrests within 1 month.
