I've found out how to get mods to fully work on android devices Using Mupen64 Alpha
You can now load textures and codes and it'll be able to work like it would on a pc
only drawback is that it doesn't work for every mod the mods I've gotten to work was forever Indy and a wwe2k16 mod I found on YouTube also codes take a long time to put it because they have to be vertical and the codes that come from the project64 txt is horizontal :merrychristmas:

This is interesting. I've been able to get textures to work, but never able to input codes.

Yessir, they indeed do work. Most of my no mercy time over the last couple of years has been playing around with the Android ports of the emulators. Mupen64plusae is the only way to go from my experience.

-textures load for the most part. I noticed with the legends save a few random textures not loading. Unsure if due to user error somehow or maybe a memory limit reached.

-cheats work decently. I actually did some testing and got some issues fixed by the devs last year.

A few cons still to be worked out:

-no 2.1 style texture support, so I haven't been able to give showdown a run. :(

-codes run in a different cheat file format. So basically any cheat file needs an overhaul to work properly. (I've already done several)

Biggest plus though is having no mercy in your pocket. The devs have had steady improvement over time, so I expect things to only get better. In the near future I'll be posting cheat files for anyone wwishing to try it out, and perhaps some sort of tutorial to help take the guesswork out of it.

I wonder if you simply use jabo's new plugin with it, if it would work.

The Showdown textures have nothing to do with the version of Project 64, that plugin is the default. It's just easier for noobs to get it set up if I tell them that.

Yeah I understand that it's just the pluigin, I haven't poked around in the app yet but I'm sure it's possible to modify the app itself. I successfully did that in the past adding cheats before doing it through the gui was a feature. The only unknown is if it will act right once they are in there. They actually port the plug-ins to android as well. In the current state of the app rice is a mess. gln64 is the plug-in that handles no mercy best for me, weird though because a couple years back rice was flawless when it came to the aki games. I'll suggest to the team looking into adding jabo as a plugin, it may not be high on their priority list as it would be on ours however.

Yeah most mods work besides showdown and others just like it. It takes a while to separate the codes but after doing it the game is just as smooth as it is on project64
