Quote:

As noted earlier, Evan Bourne stated on his Twitter that he "mangled" his foot in a car accident this past Monday, just two days after his suspension for his second violation of the company's Talent Wellness Program expired.

"I hate throw out bad news but I must," Bourne wrote on his Twitter. I was in an accident Monday and mangled my foot. Sorry to delay the comeback, I'm down but not out! Broken in 4 spots, dislocated in 5! Ouch!"

He posted the following pictures on his Twitter of the accident, and wrote, "I wish I was back in the ring already. Until then here is a gross pic... I have a cast on my leg now... I'm gonna be bitter about this for a little while"

He has two choices. The first is to do what Van Dam did in 1999. He should take his time, no matter how long it may take, and rest his foot properly. He must rehabilitate it fully. So when he returns, his current moveset will not be limited. He will be able to perform at his best, and maybe improve.

His other choice is to rush through rehab. Get back in the ring as soon as possible. He will never have the same mobility in his foot, and his physical capacity will be reduced for the remainder of his career. But at least he can get back to earning money.

But there are many differences between Bourne's situation and Van Dam's. Van Dam had to work a lighter schedule, and had made much more money than Bourne has. Van Dam had a guaranteed contract with ECW, meaning that he could go back anytime. But Bourne does not have this. And Van Dam did not come off TWO suspensions, totalling 90 payless days out of 150. Treating this injury will require finances and time off that Bourne can not spare.

I wonder if this is any connection with the car accident that Cena was involved with?
