Phil Mushnik of the New York Post has recently been very vocal in his criticisms of Linda McMahon and the WWE.

Mushnik is very much opposed to Linda McMahon's campaign to run for political office. The main basis of his argument is the content of WWE programming during Linda's last 10 years as the company's Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Mushnik has run several articles slamming the product, and personally attacking Linda's husband and WWE owner Vincent McMahon. Up until now, his comments were strictly his own interpretations of content.

This is the first time the Mushnik made any reference to anything that happens off-screen in the wrestling industry. He claims that the lifestyle that WWE contracted stars engage in is grately shortening their lives, and he blames the lifestyle on the deaths of 28 specific stars.

Each of the names below has appeared on at least one episode of WWE Raw as an active wrestler, but died before reaching 45. Mushnick made no reference to how any of these stars had died. However, he did imply very heavily that the physical toll taken by their bodies and abusing recreational, perscription and illegal drugs were connected in all cases.

Bam Bam Bigelow
Bertha Faye
Big Boss Man
Brian Pillman
"British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith
Chris Benoit (Suicide)
Chris Duffy
Crash Holly
Crush
Earthquake/Golga (Complications relating to size and weight).
Eddie Guerrero
Giant Gonzalez (Complications relating to size).
Joey Marella
Johnny Grunge
Kanyon
Lance Cade (Complications due to heart condition)
Marianna/Miss Cleavage (Terminal Illness)
Mike Awesome (Suicide)
Mr. Perfect
Owen Hart (Accident - Famously fell to his death in a freak accident live on pay-per-view).
Rad Radford
Rick Rude
Road Warrior Hawk
Skip
Test
The Executioner (a/k/a Terry Gordy)
Umaga/Jamal
Yokozuna

Had the list been extended to age 50, these stars would have been included too:

Steve Williams (terminal illness)
Ludvig Borga
Luna Vachon
Rocco Rock
Sensational Sherri
Steven Dunn.
Zip (Complications due to botched surgery).

Pillman, Hart, Guerrero and Benoit all died while under contract.
