- Two months ago, William Regal was announced as the first official General Manager of NXT. However, for the shows relaunch as a brand, Regal was demoted to colour commentator at tapings. Play-by-play announcer Jim Ross introduced Dusty Rhodes as the Interim General Manager of NXT.
Now the current plan is to keep Regal at the broadcast table. The plan is to have a WWE Legend become a full time General Manager for the brand, but they have no idea who they will use. Rhodes and Ricky Steamboat have already turned down the role.
- It was announced on Raw that a new permanent General Manager for both Raw and SmackDown will be announced on the 1,000th episode of Raw.
While there was no clue offered to the identity of this person, internal speculation suggests that the role will be filled by someone who had been the official RAW GM before. While Theodore Long is the obvious choice, it is more likely that it will either be Vickie Guerrero, or even a newly reinstated John Laurinaitis.
List of previous full-time Raw GMs are: Ric Flair, Mr. McMahon, Eric Bischoff, Theodore Long, Stephanie McMahon, Vickie Guerrero, Mike Adamle, Michael Cole/JBL*, Steve Austin, Mick Foley, Shane McMahon, William Regal, Jonathan Coachman, Triple H** and John Laurinaitis.
* John 'JBL' Layfield insists on his Facebook page that either he or Michael Cole were to be revealed as the anonymous Raw General Manager.
** Triple H served fulfilled the General Manager duties as part of his role as Chief Operating Officer.
