Congratulations!! To Colt "Boom Boom"Cabana on becoming the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion. He defeated 3-time champion Adam Pearce in a bloodbath to capture the belt last night in Hollywood, CA.

Yea I enjoy his body of work but I believe the NWA lost their world status years ago and is only called the NWA championship.

It is still called the World championship, always has been. If a tv show says "NWA Champion" it still means World Champion, just like the TNA title.

I thought any Puro wrestling fans here maybe interested in this, I having been trying to find out about any Japanese superstars conditions and this is what i have found out so far.


Daily Sports reports that all the All-Japan roster is safe and uninjured. Several wrestlers including Minori Suzuki, Suwama, Masakatsu Funaki, Kaz Hayashi, TARU and KENSO reportedly were near the arena in Miyagi when the earthquake hit. Keiji Mutoh may have been in Tokyo at the time.


Daily Sports also reports the earthquake and some aftershocks affected the ZERO1 school in Tokyo while Shinjiro Otani & Daichi Hashimoto were to hold today's (03-11) planned pre-Yasukuni Shrine press conference. It appears Kenta Kakinuma & Masato Tanaka were also at the school, all were uninjured.

According to Dragon Gate's top star CIMA, there are no cancellations at this time and all members of the promotion are safe.

Kensuke Office star Takashi Okita is OK, he�s posted to his blog.

Big Japan reports all its wrestlers and staff are safe and uninjured.

So far there are no reports of any wrestlers or staff members of promotions being injured or missing, but there have been close calls. An earlier post on Akira Hokuto's official blog (ameblo.jp/hokuto-akira), and a very emotional one at that, reveals that the earthquake caused damage to the school her young children attend.


Thankfully both evacuated safely and Hokuto herself is fine,but she's very worried about not only friends in Fukushima, but the many children she saw last weekend at Kensuke Office's event in Kurihara City.


I am so happy that so far no one is hurt or injured, when i read about Akira's children i'm not afraid to tell you it made me cry. I can not imagine in my wildest dreams how she felt.But thanks god they are ok. If i read or hear anything else i will post it here.

Just pray for all the lost & injured that God will watch over them through this horrible time.

CHIKARA sent out the following today… CHIKARA: The 1-2-3 Kid returns for one weekend only - King of Trios 2011! The weekend of April 15, 16 and 17th will see 48 wrestlers converge on the former ECW Arena in South Philadelphia for the monstrous King of Trios 2011! In all, 16 trios will compete across the three days, until just one is left standing. Just announced today is the inclusion of "Team Minnesota"- captained by the 1-2-3 Kid himself, Sean Waltman! He is joined by follow Minnesotans Arik Cannon and Darin Corbin for tournament action.
