Ok so I'm editing this to hopefully be more clear and precise as to what I'm asking to avoid confusion that I have BOlieve I caused. I apologize if I did.

I am adding Bret Hart to the game, starting out small with 1 wrestler at a time. However I am running in to issues of him showing up on the proper select screen, and being able to compete against the proper gender.

Direct and to the point questions (This is for Smackdown vs Raw 2011):

1. How do I add a nomodel wrestler to the male Superstars selection menu? I do NOT want them on the Diva screen.
2. How do I play a nomodel wrestler as a male Superstar? I presume I can't do #1 because #2. The game refuses to recognize nomodels as male by default.
(I have edited the .bpe using dat editor to change the gender to male, but the game still treats the wrestler as a female)
3. *bonus question* Can I add wrestlers to a DLC selection screen in the PS2 version? If so how?

Ok so I'll expand on those questions to lay out what I've done so far and troubleshooting steps I've tried to get my wrestlers to work.

So expanding on "1. How do I add a nomodel wrestler to the male Superstars selection menu?"

P0QnlWe.jpg

Using Arjun's dat editor, I have added Bret Hart to menu slot 10. By default that is CM Punk's slot. In my modded game I am keeping CM Punk, so I moved him to slot 16, which is Druid's. I am NOT keeping Druid so this is an ok move. I have changed Druid's menu slot to an arbitrary number (99) and disabled him so he will not show up on the select screen. When I go to play as Bret Hart, he does not show up on the Superstars screen. That slot where he should be shows up as "Vacant". Instead he shows up on the Diva's screen... kind of.

So in order to select Bret Hart, I have to select the Diva tab. When you do this while selecting your first wrestler, you have a list you can scroll through and I can see him there easily. However he doesn't show up on the actual Diva screen. Either way I do NOT want him in the Diva section at all. I just want him to show up on the Superstars menu in the free slot I have opened up for him. This is not happening, so I am looking to see if I missed something and figure out how to fix it. I BOlieve the reason behind this is tied directly to my second question though...

And expanding on 2: How do I play a nomodel wrestler as a male Superstar?

P0QnlWe.jpg

So once again referring to the image above, I have already set Bret Hart to a male in his .bpe file using Arjun's dat editor. I have manually checked with a hex editor on the rebuilt SVR11.iso to make sure the change did in fact make it in. Yes, the gender string for Bret Hart's attributes file is still set to male.

However, when I go to character select, he is on the Diva screen. When I select him, I can only pick Divas for an opponent, not Superstars. And then in game, the announcer refers to Bret Hart as "she" or "her", he uses female sounds, and then the match victory animations are female.

Now with his gender attribute being set to male, why is the game still treating him as a Diva? How do I fix this?

DISCLAIMER:

In Arjun's "total tutorial to hack svr" he has listed a way to add nomodels to the Diva screen via cheats to turn your nomodel in to a female, and then deactivate those cheats to apparently have the game treat them as a male but they will still be on the Diva screen? Either way I already know about this cheat method but that is NOT what I am looking for.

I do not want to have Bret Hart on the Diva screen. I do not want to turn him in to a female and back to male. I want him on the Superstars screen by default, and I want the game to treat him as a male by default. Is there anyone that can help me fix this issue? Once I resolve this it's pretty much smooth sailing from here and I can churn out tons of mods. I am a 3d modeler so I will be looking in to making custom meshes for wrestlers (which I will release to the community of course) and finding a way to import them in to the game once I find the proper file format, etc. But baby steps first.

Is there another file I have to tamper with somewhere that I may have missed? I assume I just have to be missing something.

Here are my settings for him:

I'll update the first post to try to be more clear I suppose to avoid any confusion as there seems to be some miscommunication. I apologize for it.

Why you just add it to divas selection screen and edit that screen to DLC for example.

I am wanting to make him appear on the Superstars screen. I put him in a menu slot that is on the Superstars screen, which is 10. Now that is originally CM Punk's slot. Since I don't want to play Druid (who is in slot 16), I moved CM Punk to slot 16 and Bret Hart to slot 10 (and I disabled Druid, and took him out of slot 16 so there would not be a menu conflict). CM punk shows up just fine in the new spot I gave him, but now I get a Vacant spot in the Superstars screen instead of Bret Hart (because I took out Druid), and Bret Hart appears in the Diva section instead for some reason (and I can only select him by hitting "random" or using the scroll list if I am selecting him first). Is there a way I can fix this and get Bret Hart on the Superstars screen? I've cleared a spot for him, it's just a matter of getting him to appear properly.

But then that still doesn't solve the problem of him not being able to compete against other male Superstars. Even though I enabled him as a male with the dat editor, the game still treats him as a Diva and he can only play against Divas. I opened up the 000111.bpe with a hex editor to make sure the dat editor changed the gender string to male properly, and it did. His gender code is "00" (for male), not "01" (for female). So I'm stumped as to why the game doesn't treat him as a male.

Well just import it on any model that you don't need then change the model screen to 10 then hack the model's SSFD by following dadydodo's Tutorial!!

Like Druid is used in Undertaker's entrance, and Road to Wrestlemania. Some of the other "lesser" Superstars are also used in Road to Wrestlemania story. So instead of replacing their models, I am just replacing his menu spot so the game can still use their model for the story. But that doesn't seem to be working because the game will not recognize the nomodel I am editing as a male Superstar.

People have had success adding additional Superstars to the game already without having to replace current ones, so I am just trying to figure out where I am going wrong and why I am having a difficult time with mine. I just can't get passed the issue that the game will only recognize my new wrestler as a Diva even though the .bpe data is set to male.

If you want to be successful use cheat.

Ok so a quick update. The cheat code from Arjun's code generator makes the Bret Hart nomodel I added fully playable and selectable, but ONLY against other females and ONLY selectable from the Diva menu. I know you can turn the code off in game to make him playabe against males but then he is still only accessible from the Diva screen. I am looking to select him from the male Superstars menu and be treated as a male by default, not starting the game as a female (because I can't assign male titles to him that way).

I decided to just try to add Bret Hart to the game without using the cheat code from Arjun's code generator, but I did all the rest of the steps as usual just skipping that 1 code for slot 111 that I have Bret Hart in. Now he is being treated as a male in the game and he is kinda playable, but has a couple issues with selecting him and other unintended side effects. But at least now I can give him male title belts instead of only Diva because the game finally sees him as a male Superstar, not a Diva: He shows up in the WWE Superstars management screen without the code which is good, and the game finally treats him as a male.

Getting a little closer. However still a couple issues now:

1. Bret Hart still does not show up on the Superstars selection menu. That menu slot I opened for him and put him in shows up as Vacant still: 2. When I assign him a title, the rankings for that title completely disappear. I cannot have a championship match for that title because the game will replace that match with another generic match: 3. The only way he is selectable is if I choose him as a manager: I assume I can probably random at the Superstars menu until I eventually come across him, but I can't actually select him because the first slot is Vacant so the game prevents me from doing so. However, in game as a manager he IS fully playable.

The root of my problem seems to be the cheat codes to activate the nomodel slots. Even though I made his gender a male in his .bpe file with the dat editor, the cheat code that I used to make the nomodel playable forced that nomodel in to a female gender.

So, is there a cheat code I can use to activate the nomodel to be playable as a male? It seems setting his status to enabled in the .bpe file with the dat editor only makes him partially playable.
