As previously reported, G.I. Joe 2, which stars The Rock has been pushed back until March 2013.
The Rock has been advertised as having the lead role in the movie, and is supported by Channing Tatum and Bruce Willis. The new release date for the movie means that it will be released very close to WrestleMania XXIX, where the Rock is expected to have a major role. Previous, a P.R. spokesman for the movie claimed that the decision was to upgrade the footage to suit 3D screenings.
However, it had emerged that the film has actually done poorly with test audiences. The feeling is that the movie will flop if released as is, and would create a huge financial loss. So now large parts of the film will be changed. Changes will include a heavily updated script, new footage being filmed and a much larger role for Tatum.
In the original production, Tatum is killed early into the film. But the relationship between the characters played by Rock and Tatum is considered to be the strongest part of the movie.
