Right now, WWE Officials are worried that Rey Mysterio may be on his way out of the company. And NO-ONE wants this.
As reported, Mysterio believes he has torn an ACL in his "good" knee. He has been told by Dr. Andrews that he can continue to wrestle without surgery, as long as he wore a specially made knee brace.
Mysterio has been dealing with injuries for almost 2 whole years now. He knows that it is only a matter of time before WWE doctors will refuse to let him compete in the ring. Both Steve Austin and Edge were banned from the ring by WWE doctors due to their neck health, so Mysterio knows that they could ban him too. He has already been told that he is at high risk of never being able to walk again under his own power.
Mysterio has already decided that when his in-ring career is over, he will leave wrestling for good. Mysterio does not believe he can make enough money to support his family if he retires. The WWE have tried to assure him that he will retain a highly paid career in the company once he is finished in the ring, but Mysterio is not interested.
Dr. Andrews is the man who helped Triple H and Vince McMahon with their ACL injuries. Triple H encouraged Mysterio to see Andrews about his knee problems.
WWE officials knew for a long time that Rey Mysterio's health would soon prevent him from competing in the ring. While they have been trying to make a new hispanic star to take his place, they have now decided that they want Mysterio to be eternally involved with the product.
