Hulk Hogan announced on Twitter today that all future X-Division matches will be 1-on-1 matches again.
Hogan claimed that this was a joint decision between TNA President Dixie Carter and himself. He also admitted that this was a response to fan comments.
Earlier this year, the pair ruled that all X-Division matches, specifically title matches, would be 3-way matches. In theory, this would add more excitement to the already quick paced matches. Two performers could continue to wrestle, while the third guy has more time to recover from larger bumps. Also, they would be encouraged to perform more double team and 'Tower Of Doom' spots.
But fans have been critical of the new ruling from the start. They have noticed that X-Division matches have become harder to follow, and that wrestlers are focusing more on high-spots than putting on a believable match.
