Before the movie :

I grew up watching the cartoons and even if i'm not huge fan of that character i enjoyed most of the movies, games and cartoons and hoped for that one to be good too.

Movie Plot :

Spider-man is trying to catch Aleksei Systevitch who is stealing a truck containing plutonium, while doing this he saves Max Dillon, an Oscorp employee, obsessed with Spidey, and no one respects him. While working he fell into a tank full of genetically modified eels, giving him the power to control electricity, he accidentally blacks out the a street and is stopped by Spider-Man, he then will be locked into one of Oscorp labs, Ravencroft Institute, where experiences will be done to him by Dr Kafka.

Harry Osborn comes back in the city to visit his dying father, this one reveals to his son that the disease killing him is hereditary and Harry will suffer from that too, he gives him a device containing all his research on how to cure the sickness. He learns that Spidey's blood might save him but the vigilante refuses to give him some.

Donald Menken, one of Oscorps big employees, get Harry dismissed from the company by accusing him to try to hide what happened to Max, furious, Harry will sneek into Ravenscroft and free Electro in exchange of his help, he will then force menken to give some of the mutated spiders' venom and inject it to him hoping to be cured, this will modify his body, turning him into the Green Goblin.

Spider-Man will have to face both of them to save his city and his life.

My impressions :

+ Electro, his story of the poor guy no one sees, obsessed by a hero turning into a supervillain is a bit sad but well done, his style when turned into Electro looks awesome.
+ Green Goblin, the story about his disease gives him a good motivation to attack Spider-Man.
+ Humor

- Some of the jokes fall flat
- Systevitch, i don't know if it's the same in English but the French voice has a caricatural Russian accent and gross laugh, to sum up his character i would say dumb and useless.
- The romance, i know Peter's love interests are important in the story but the dialogues are cheesy as hell.

To conclude, there are not many big good or bad points, the movie is enjoyable, a good entertainment to watch with friends, we had a good laugh at an inapropriate moment. It's not a must see but it's a good movie.

Want to watch this, the last one I watched, I had to sit in a 3D Cinema for a sh*tload of time, and got a headache. lol. Not a fan of those long Spiderman movies, 80 minutes is more than enough for me.

It's true that it's long, the 2h20 could have been reduced by half an hour without losing anything from the story.
I haven't watched it in 3D, i guess it's another movie where it doesn't add a lot, i saw the first one in 3D and thought it was useless.
Also, there is no need to stay after the credits, all we had is a clip from XMen DoFP which was pointless.

About Rhino, i'll try not to spoil too much :

<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Rhino</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">In the beginning he is just a random dude who wants to steal a truck full of plutonium and gets caught by SpiderMan, he is sent to Ravenscroft, at the end of the movie a man comes visit Harry who is imprisoned there too and speaks about getting some guys to work with to try to get rid of Spidey.
Rhino,is then seen causing trouble in the street, Spider-man comes and a fight starts and...end credits.
He is here only to build up the coming Sinister Six movie but he barely has 5 mn on screen with his Rhino gear.</div>

Hey baal666 , nice review but i guess you are still being too polite wrt the movie. This movie sucks man , its like a kid film which even the kids would feel is for way below their age. As you said , romance is cheesy, humour sucks , the story/plot sucks , some of the action scenes in the first half were really amazing , that is the best part but if you ask me then i would say that .... if there is a kid in you and you are not pregnant :p and if the kid in you is really kiddish .. then you are the right audience for the movie . My rating would be 5/10 , that 5 is specially for the action/flying sequences in first half.

I slept through the romantic scenes , reminded me of Twilight if we were to make for kids. And btw if i had asked a kid to come up with Rhino, i think they would have come up with a way better Rhino

I personally enjoyed the film, even though some idiot spoiled it for me (no, I am not talking about an OSR member posting in the shoutbox. One of my Twitter friends tweeted it on the day the movie came out in my country).

Before this film, I always hated Electro as a villian. But the Jamie Foxx version was something else. And Spider-Man actually talked like Spider-Man. One thing that was definitely missing from the last film was the classic Spider-Man wit.

There are 3 things I did not like, though:

1. If you think about it, the villians were inactive for most of the film. This led to the overly long, romantic scenes between Peter and Gwen that hardly went anywhere.

2. Since the beginning of this century, we have had 5 live-action Spider-Man movies, and the Green Goblin was in 3 of them so far.

3. How many times did Spider-Man have to save someone from a vehicle that had been sent flying through the air?

- He will have to save someone from a vehicle that flying through the air until the movies series is over, Because without those "Car flying trough the air" scene, It's not a Spider-Man movie lol.

Saw this a few days before DoFP. What a let down.

If you remember that it's set up more so like a kid's movie, it softens the blow...'Itsy Bitsy Spider' plays at one point. Too many visual gags (Spidey working in his lab, hitting himself with items, etc) and overall lack of direction (character relationships going nowhere, that stuff with Harry and his dad was deep and should have been expanded), this film really let me down. I thought Jamie Foxx would be the weak point but surprisingly, he has matured as an actor.
