TNA Spoils Upcoming Title Change At House Show

Roode then appeared and stated on the microphone that Beer Money is dead because he killed it. Storm came out and challenged Roode to a match for the strap.

In the main event, Roode defeated Storm to retain the championship. Roode won after hitting Storm with the title belt while the referee was accidentally knocked out.

Roode defeated Storm at Wednesday's Impact Wrestling taping by striking "The Tennessee Cowboy" with a beer bottle, turning heel in the process and effectively dissolving Beer Money. The angle airs next Thursday on Impact Wrestling.[/quote]

Cast your minds back to January 2010.

The X-Division champion Amazing Red was still sore from a brutal title defence when he was forced to team with rookies Generation Me to take on Brian Kendrick and the Motor City Machine Guns. This TV Taping match saw Red get knocked out. But then all three members of the British Invasion (who were a part of World Elite) decided to attack Red further. Rob Terry had a contract that guaranteed him an X-Division title match whenever he chose. But Brutus Magnus decided to give the contract to Douglas Williams instead. A few minutes later, Williams claimed the X-Division championship that should've been Terry's.

Terry decides that this is the final straw. All the other members of World Elite had been picking on him for months, and he needed to do something about this. So Terry waited until the company had a live event in his native Wales in the United Kingdom. On the 27th January, Terry challenged World Elite leader Eric Young for the TNA Global Championship. Terry won, and the title change was officially announced on their website. Magnus and Williams immediatly kicked Terry out of the British Invasion AND World Elite.

Then on the 28th, they broadcast the pre-taped episode of Impact. So the event that provoked Terry into seeking revenge officially happened one day AFTER he had achieved revenge.
