Right now, there will not be any future pay-per-views from the UK.

The WWE were using the last tour of Europe to determine whether or not SummerSlam should take place in London, England. The answer was a resounding "No".

There is a feeling that WWE could have easily secured a deal with Wembley Stadium, which hosted much of the 2012 Olympic Games. But it was the WWE that backed out.

Officially, they are using the excuse that they would need to broadcast the show at 3am in the US. Due to the time difference, starting the show at the regular time in the UK would mean airing the pay-per-view live in the afternoon in the US. With bookmakers not accepting bets on WWE events, a tape delayed pay-per-view is out of the question.

The other reason is because WWE management are usually unhappy with the wrestlers and crew after each UK tour. The wrestlers struggle to adapt to such an awkward and heavy schedule.

The WWE has hosted SummerSlam in the past. The most noteable time was in 1992, when Englishman British Bulldog defeated his brother-in-law Bret Hart to win the Intercontinental Championship in the main event.
