Roman Reigns broke the record for most eliminations in one Rumble. He put 12 opponents out of the match. Needless to say, this is the most eliminations for a first time participant.
Batista is the only person to have won the Rumble more than once from the same entry number. Both victories happened after Batista started at #28.
Batista and Sheamus have finished in the final four in every single Rumble match that they have ever been in.
Kane extends his record for most Rumble match appearances, now having competed 15 times.
Kane has matched Shawn Michaels’ record for all-time eliminations. Both men have officially thrown 39 opponents out of Rumbles, but in fact have put out 40 rivals.
Not only was Kevin Nash this year’s oldest entrant (54 years old), but he had his first Rumble match before any other entrant this year.
Seth Rollins was this years’ youngest participant at 27 years old.
El Torito is the lightest entrant ever, weighing in at 110lbs. He matches Hornswoggle’s record for shortest participant, as both were officially 4’ 5’’.
Rey Mysterio has been the final entrant twice.
This was not JBL’s first Rumble, just his first with the JBL gimmick. However, it has been 12 years since his last Rumble match.
CM Punk lasted 49 minutes and 11 seconds.
JBL only lasted 21 seconds.
Antonio Cesaro lasted 16 minutes, 57 seconds. This was the longest time anyone survived this year without defeating a single opponent.
El Torito lasted 1 minute, 26 seconds. This is the shortest survival time despite eliminating an opponent.
Damian Sandow upheld the tradition of seeing the #3 entrant get eliminated first. This has occurred 13 times now.
This is the second time that Brock Lesnar faced Big Show in a match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. In 2003, Big Show had Paul Heyman in his corner, but Heyman was in Lesnar’s corner in 2014. Lesnar won both matches.
When the New Age Outlaws won the WWE Tag Team Championship, Billy Gunn became the oldest person to have held the title (50 years old). It was also 14 years since Road Dogg last held a title in the WWE.
After all this time, hardly anyone still cared about Randy Orton vs John Cena over a major title.
