Veteran WWE Superstar Released.
Dustin 'Goldust' Runnels has been released from his WWE contract.
As reported earlier, there had been speculation over his status for almost 3 weeks, with many claiming that they believed that Runnels was done with the company. But as of 6th May, 2012, Runnels is no longer with the WWE. There has also been some suggestion that his release had happened some time ago, even as far back as April 24th.
Since returning to the WWE in 2008, Runnels has worked as an enhancement talent, and as an agent on the SmackDown brand. And for the last few months, he had been working as a producer for the blue brand. There has been no official reason given for his release, but there is speculation that Runnels was released because of one specific incident.
The release had been suspected for some time as Runnels recently created a new Twitter account using his real name. And his 'Goldust' profile has been moved to the 'Alumni' section on the WWE website.
Various dirt sheet website have reported numerous reasons for his release, but all are speculation and none have been confirmed.
